SALARY

Abbey Vets in Wales has a fantastic opportunity for a full-time small animal vet to join their friendly, experienced team.

Both new/recent graduates are welcome to apply.

In this role, you will be provided with a real work-life balance and career progression so you can achieve your full potential.

With 13 vets and 4 well-equipped, RCVS accredited sites there is a varied and interesting caseload. Very little is referred, although full clinical freedom is given where this is required.

Our main branch is a 24-hour hospital.

The team includes certificate holders in Surgery, Medicine, Radiology + a visiting Cardiologist, meaning there is excellent case support when required. There is 24-hour nursing at the main hospital to provide excellent clinical care to patients.

The successful applicant will work a four-day week with 1 in 5 Saturdays required. Saturday shifts are 8:45 am to 6 pm (practice doors close at 5 pm). The out of hours work is 1 night in 7. This is for inpatients only, and there is a nurse on-site, so the vet on-call will only be called if necessary.

Some of the benefits include:

- 4 day week

- CPD: VP graduate scheme first 2 years, then 5 days and £1750

- 28 days Holiday including Bank Holidays

- Salary commensurate with experience

- Pension

- Access to HealthShield

- RCVS + VDS membership

- One other professional membership

The practice strongly believes in developing their vets, and certificates are fully supported, along with all other career aspirations.

We are experienced in helping New Graduates start their professional career. There is a Practice culture of case discussions among colleagues, with questions encouraged. The rota is designed to ensure an experienced Vet will always be available so New Graduates can develop their confidence and own surgical case load. The interview process will involve being able to discuss the role with one of our Vets who joined us as a New Graduate in 2020.

The practice is located in a beautiful part of the country with great transport links and easy access to Bristol and Cardiff in 45 minutes and 2.5 hours to London.

Accommodation is available to help with relocation if required.

For further information about the practice please view our website www.abbeyvets.co.uk, Facebook page or contact Amanda on 01873 852 391
