Description

Full-time Small Animal RVN

The position to be filled requires an experienced RVN with interest in clinical coaching. It consists of 40 hours per week, either 7.30am-4.30pm, 8am-5pm or 10am-7pm on a rota basis and maximum 1 in 6 duty weekends. The successful candidate would be mainly based at our newly extended clinic at Blackmore with 1-2 days per week spent at our Writtle branch. Occasional cover would be required at our Billericay branch.

We are a well-established, large mixed practice. We have the capacity to follow the majority of cases to their conclusion and do take some local referrals, particularly for cardiac related issues. The Practice consists of a large, dedicated team with a wealth of experience. We are a registered training practice for both Small Animal and Equine nurses and will require another clinical coach to replace an existing staff member soon to go on Maternity leave.

The nursing team here at House and Jackson are hardworking and dedicated with a fantastic team ethic. The team consists of a range of qualified, student and nursing assistants. Our newly extended clinic at Blackmore provides spacious Kennels and Cattery and brand new clinical areas. We also have the capacity to provide Hydrotherapy, in the form of underwater treadmill, onsite staffed by two of our qualified nurses. We provide a range of nurse clinics across all three of our practices including puppy programmes, diabetic consults, weight watchers, post dental and adolescents.

Out of hours weekends consist of working 11am-8pm Friday, 8.30am-5.30pm Saturday, 9am-5pm Sunday on site at the Blackmore Clinic and then carrying a pager from 8pm Friday night until 8am Monday morning. The Duty vet will call you into to the practice during these hours as and when your assistance is required for emergency cases. For this reason you will need to remain within 30 minutes of the practice during the time you are ‘On Call’ (Accommodation is available onsite for duty staff if required).

We would consider a part-time position for the right candidate.
