TitleParklands Vets Farm Team
Show in VetGradtick
Show in VetBosstick
CountyCounty Tyrone
LocalityNorthern Ireland
Description

Would you like to experience living and working in another country?

In Northern Ireland we are renowned for our welcoming nature, the “craic” and everything Northern Ireland has to see and do.  Parklands have an opening in their farm team, we are a large and friendly team with a young bias, Covid permitting we enjoy CPD events together with team building activities, barbeques, festive dinners and nights out! Anyone requiring a mentor/clinical coach (vet GDP) will have one named for them. We strive for the best patient and animal care with a huge amount of knowledge in our broad-based team including Farm, Equine, SA, Poultry and Pig vets. Second opinions are encouraged via phone to another team member or re-visiting the animals. Typical day is 9 to 5.30 and typical weekday rota would include one weeknight on call, either first or second, and one weekend first or second in 4 with a set half day off in week after weekend on call. We have a well-equipped practice where good clinical examination is the cornerstone of animal care but further investigation using Labs etc is encouraged to optimise herd/flock health. Professional and personal development is important to us and encouraged at the individual’s pace, CPD allowance is 5 days a year planned with your mentor. New grads have access to the new graduate program and can shadow a more senior vet for as long as needed. Certificate study encouraged when appropriate to start. Salaries in line with SPVS survey results, along with health care cover. We also supply vehicle, kit, phone with client locations loaded and may be able to supply accommodation with household bills paid. At interview we always recommend speaking to the other vets to get an idea of what they feel Parklands is like.
