Description

Senior Veterinary Surgeon – London - £55K - £65K

A rare opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at The London Cat Clinic, located in Bermondsey, London.

About us

Our clinic is very definitely independent, purpose-built, and Gold Standard. We celebrated our 4th birthday in May 2021 and have nearly 4000 registered patients which brings an interesting and varied caseload, being a mixture of fun first opinion work, a significant number of interesting and challenging second opinions and increasing referral caseload. We have the only feline-specific ophthalmology service in the UK and have made a successful transition to providing 24/7 emergency and inpatient care to close the circle on high-level care we give our patients during the day.

As we expand our services and bring on new team members, our aspiration to be a centre of clinical excellence is well on-track. In the months and years ahead, the pressure will be on us to live up to our reputation and ensure a consistent and brilliant experience for cats and their carers, day or night, whether from a vet, a nurse or front-of-house colleague.

Critical to our success is the open, honest and transparent relationships we must have as a team –understand we are all different and celebrate this, support each other, bring past experiences and new ideas together in an impactful way. We must respect each other and the wonderful building in which we get to practice what we are passionate about every day.
We value all our team members equally and a core value is that the ‘whole is greater than the sum of its parts’. We expect you to feel the same!
You can take a tour of the practice here: https://www.thelondoncatclinic.co.uk/take-a-tour/.
We are well situated in Bermondsey with excellent transport links being close to London Bridge and the Jubilee Line.

About the role

We are looking for a friendly, professional and experienced Veterinary Surgeon with excellent clinical skills. Ideally you would have a post-graduate qualification in feline medicine or are studying towards one – if ECC is your bias then we would be interested to hear from you as well. If you have experience with an ultrasound probe and know your way around a cat’s abdomen, this would be great, but this isn’t essential, and training can be provided.
At The London Cat Clinic you will be encouraged to be the vet you want to be with support if you wish to further your skills and expertise. You will be working on average 4 days per week at 42hrs, which can flexible and we are open for some negotiation on this. No OOH.
