Veterinary Internship – Dovecote Veterinary Hospital

An opportunity has arisen for a one year internship at Dovecote Veterinary Hospital in Leicestershire.  We are a diploma-led multidiscipline referral centre and an associate practice for University of Nottingham Veterinary School.  Patients are referred from across the Midlands, with specialities offered in Orthopaedics, Neurology, Soft Tissue Surgery, Oncology and Dermatology.  Dovecote also provides first opinion care to the local community. 

The internship at Dovecote is a fixed one-year position.  In this exciting role, you will work under the supervision of and support specialists in several disciplines.  The position would suit a graduate with a minimum of 1-2 years experience.  The rota includes some sole charge ECC/OOH work. Out-of-hours coverage is a fundamental part of an internship; you will cover the night shift, working a full week of nights on a one in three basis and provide back-up to colleagues in the event of unforeseen absence.  During these shifts you will be working alongside Registered Veterinary Nurses and will be responsible for patients on the general hospital wards with back-up support.

The hospital itself is modern, purpose-built, and well equipped, with advanced imaging and excellent operating facilities.  The practice is located in Castle Donington – a picturesque market town in Leicestershire, which is situated close to the national forest, major transport links (M1, A50) and close to East Midlands International Airport
