The Role

We have an exciting opening for a Lead Veterinary Surgeon at our Dorking practice. 

This is a full time position, but flexible working and part time applicants will be considered. The successful candidate will be a confident GP vet looking to take the next step in their career.

We are looking for a great communicator, someone with ambition and drive to lead the team and to ensure our wonderful clients and patients are given gold standard care.  Certificate study is actively encouraged and fully funded, and there are partnership opportunities for the right candidate. 

This role covers 40 hours a week over a 4 day shift pattern, offering an attractive work-life balance. This pattern includes 1:3 Saturdays.

Salary & Benefits:

Competitive salary of up to £65,000 (pro-rata for part time hours)

Accommodation allowance of £9,000

Vehicle or £2,500 vehicle allowance

£1,500 CPD allowance with 3 days CPD leave, and in-house CPD training

VDS, RCVS, BVA fees paid

5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays

Skills and Experience

You must be a Veterinary Surgeon who is registered with the RCVS.

Ideally, you have at least 3-5 years' veterinary experience with small animals (UK or equivalent).

The Branch

Located in a charming market town in Surrey with a great selection of shops and cafes and surrounded by beautiful countryside, Medivet Dorking (Denbies View) has well bonded clients, and a wonderful 1.5 vet team with great nursing and support staff. You will be working alongside our experienced part time vet Rebecca, who has a certificate in dermatology.

The practice is located in a central position in town and benefits from the support and facilities of our local network of practices, including our large 24-Hour hospital in Faygate. The team at Faygate includes specialist exotic vets and here you will have access to 24-Hour hospitalization facilities, CT imaging, endoscopic surgical equipment, hydrotherapy and rehabilitation.
