Description

Just the job for YOU

Great opportunity for you to thrive and play a pivotal role in a growing, privately run small animal practice in Driffield East Yorkshire. This would suit a new graduate who is keen to get stuck into general practice life. You'll not be working to strict practice protocols, nor have sales targets, you'll simply have full clinical freedom to work within a small team for the benefit of your clients and their companions.

From day one you will be involved in all aspects of the practice from simple consultations through to surgical cases, and encouraged to hone the skills you have already acquired as well as to develop new ones.

What you bring

You are a cheerful small animal Vet looking to embrace general practice with the huge variety of cases, people and animals it presents, as well as enjoying great work/life balance as part of a compact vet team.

As a confident communicator you look forward to meeting and talking with colleagues and clients on a daily basis, as well as greeting and caring for their companions.

The quiet out of hours one in three rota nights and weekends has on average one telephone call per duty with one visit back to the surgery around every 5 phone calls, so plenty of time to kick back and relax even when on call. Support will always be available at the end of a phone or in person if needed.

 What we offer in return

Generous salary package of £34,000 includes the use of a two-bedroom flat  within 10 minutes walk of the practice. and a car if required.

Three days relevant CPD is encouraged and funded. We will be looking to extend this cpd allowance for the right candidate with the possibility of enrolment on a new graduate development scheme.

You will get 23 days holiday plus five of the eight bank holidays.

Royal college and VDS fees will be paid when due.

Where you'll be working

Bridge Street Vets was established in 2013 but in that short time has become a very well respected and most recommended practice in the town largely due to our personal people orientated approach.

As a former doctor’s surgery, the premises were adpated by opening up of a few walls and moving a few doorways to produce a spacious, sunny environment to work in, as can be seen from the pictures on our web page.  We are proud to show new clients around and everybody is impressed on the quality of our facilities as well as how light and spacious it is.

  • two consulting rooms with hydraulic adjustable tables (with a third planned),
  • two waiting areas,
  • separate dog and cat inpatient wards,
  • isolation ward,
  • imaging room, with digital x ray and ultrasound scanner
  • in house IDEXX  haematology and biochemistry analysers,
  • dedicated operating theatre
  • large preparation area
  • Dental station with nitrogen powered air tools and ultrasonic scaler.

In addition we have our own fully equipped ‘Sunshine Groomers’ salon with two full time groomers employed by the practice.

We now have the best team of staff we have had since we opened with happy smiling faces in all areas and people genuinely happy to be at work.

The south facing gardens to the rear provide us with the ideal place for a relaxing sunny lunchtime break.

As a VN training practice we are proud of our first trainee who qualified last summer and we have another trainee to follow in her footsteps.

Where you'll be playing

Driffield, a former market town at the foot of the East Yorkshire Wolds, lies between the historic city of York and the picturesque East Coast sandy beaches firmly in the heart of David Hockney country.

It is ideally placed for a broad range of pastimes and outdoor pursuits from horse riding, cycling through to kite/wind surfing.

It has its own sports centre and swimming pool, a variety of pubs and restaurants as well as many local sports clubs and societies.

There is a direct railway link to Bridlington, Scarborough, Beverley, Hull, Doncaster and Sheffield with onward connections to wherever you choose to go. There is a modern multi-screen cinema in Beverley within  200yards of the railway station.

Don't delay

Our web page www.bridgestreetvets.co.uk has many pictures of the practice, or you could take a look at our Facebook page. Better still, why not come and see us we’re more than happy to spend time to show you around and have a chat. We look forward to hearing from you.

Tempted? Then send your CV and a covering letter, to nickjones788@gmail.com , or for more information phone 01377 257047 and ask to speak to Debbie or Nick.

Look forward to hearing from you. Smile
