In view of its upcoming extension, Abington Park Vets is looking to recruit a Night Veterinary Surgeon who will work alongside the existing team to provide care for its existing and referral client base.

Abington Park Vets is a first opinion and referral practice with numerous Certificate Holders in various disciplines. It is equipped with top of the line in house laboratory which allows gold standard emergency and critical care evaluations, including, but not limited to, blood gas, primary and secondary coagulation, d-dimers, osmolality, ketones, ammonia and bile acid. Video endoscopy, advanced doppler ultrasound and digital radiology are also available on site. CT scanner will be permanently available once the extension will be completed in 2018 and is currently available, together with MRI, on a mobile basis every 2 weeks.

Candidates must be MRCVS registered (or eligible for registration), be confident to work sole charge (but with the assistance of a qualified nurse and a kennel assistant) in an out of hours environment, being able to perform emergency surgeries. Excellent English communication skills are also required. Working for a certificate would be encouraged and funded for the right candidate.

The working pattern will be the equivalent of 7 nights every 21, but additional day shifts can be offered as well. A competitive salary commensurate with experience is offered.
