Join Professor Derek Flaherty BVMS DVA Dipl.ECVAA FHEA FRCVS, Dr. Adam Auckburally BVSc PhD CVA Dipl.ECVAA FHEA MRCVS and Dr. Vincenzo Casoria DVM MRCVS for a series of interactive sessions. Each of the sessions will help you to interpret information displayed on your multiparameter monitor, and give you confidence in the management of common complications encountered during general anaesthesia in dogs and cats.

Sessions throughout the afternoon include;

  1. It’s a gas, gas, gas: pulse oximetry and management of hypoxaemia
  2. Beat me baby one more time: common arrhythmias encountered during general anaesthesia
  3. Every breath you take: capnography tips and trips
  4. Under pressure: pitfalls of blood pressure measurement and dealing with hypotension.

Echo Clinics

We are excited to announce we will be offering monthly Echo Clinics

Our small group practical sessions tailored to individual needs, will cover how to obtain the standard views with echocardiography that will aid decision making in day-to-day clinical practice.

During each group session, there must be two dogs present to scan. If you wish to attend, please confirm on the registration form whether you plan to bring a dog with you.

There are limited places available therefore, early registration is recommended. Please note, these clinics are chargeable @ £375pp.

SCVS Veterinary Nursing Congress 2024

After year-on-year success, our highly anticipated Veterinary Nurse Congress 2024 will take place at our award-winning hospital and will focus a range of topics including wound care, anaesthesia, ECG, diabetes, and interpreting laboratory techniques. Practical suture and CPR sessions will be held throughout the day. During the Congress, there will also be an opportunity for you to explore our hospital.

Film Nights

The film nights involve a film reading session and open discussing based on some of the cases seen at SCVS.

These meetings are run by our radiologists. Although the meetings are free, numbers are limited to allow delegate participation.

Places will be reserves on a first-come, first served basis. Light refreshments are provided.
