About The Webinar

Trauma is sadly something we need to deal with on a daily basis in small animal practice. It is most commonly the result of road traffic accidents, but we are frequently faced with dog bite attacks, oropharyngeal stick injuries, ballistic wounds, falls from heights etc. There are usually obvious and dramatic injuries to the musculoskeletal system and skin that attract our attention (and are usually of most concern to the owner at initial presentation) but we must not overlook the possibility of less obvious but more imminently life-threatening injury to the vital body systems. During the course of this webinar we will discuss these ‘silent’ injuries and suggest a systematic approach to trauma patients so that these are identified and stabilised appropriately.

What you will learn:

  • The common ‘silent’ injuries that result from trauma
  • How to suspect them on initial assessment
  • A systematic approach to the trauma patient
